Direction > Speed

Derived from:

Personal Reflections

If you're steering a ship and want to get to a certain destination, what is more important: speed or direction?

Of course, it's a combination of both. However there's one important distinction to make. Speed only matters if direction is accurate. Speed only gets true meaning if the direction is correct. That's an important relationship to observe.

What does this mean for you? Whether in life, in education or in business, direction is more important than speed. Yes, speed also matters. But it becomes meaningless if direction is off. So the first question you need to consider is whether you're moving into the right direction.

How do you know whether you're moving into the right direction? The only way to find out is to try. With speed. And then readjust your direction. Because direction is more important than speed.
